Internal insulated twin wall systems

Internal insulated twin wall systems

We design and install HETAS approved internal insulated twin wall systems.  These are the same as external twin wall systems and safe to pass near wooden structures like beams and joists.

These flue systems allow our customers to have a wood burning or multi fuel stove in a room where a traditional masonry chimney is not present or partly present.  This means you can have a stove in an extension, living room, kitchen, study, wooden building, boat, office or anywhere that needs extra heat during our increasingly colder winter nights.

All our chimney experts are HETAS registered and sign off their own work, which means you do not have to apply for planning permission.  When you sell your house, you will have the correct paperwork to complete your HIP pack.

We do not subcontract, our installation team’s work for us and have the experience to find the best route for your property on the site survey and complete the works.

We can advise on the correct stove for the size of room.  You may want us to supply the stove that best suits your needs, or you may have a stove that is pre-bought that needs fitting.  We will happily install a stove that we have not supplied.

We offer the whole package to our customers as we make bespoke hearths and surrounds to order and sell kiln dried wood, kindling and smokeless fuel for your stove, keeping you fully stocked through winter.

Building regulations for Insulated Twin Wall systems.

Our chimney lining experts install insulated twin wall systems within 50mm of combustible materials like wooden joists and rafters, as the products are the best quality. We can reduce this clearance by using fireboard on the combustible material. In line with regulations we are allowed to have a maximum of four 45 degree bends in the chimney lining flue system. If you have have more 45 degree bends on a system it will not comply to building regualations, as it will be slowing the flue gases. You are not allowed horizontal flue runs with Insulated Twin Wall Systems unless an Exhausto fan is used, this draws the fumes through the system Flue. Flue systems have to be a minimum of 4.5 meters. If the flue system is within 2.3 meters from a building, you are allowed to finish the system 1000mm above the nearest window, or 600mm above the ridge. If you are terminating the flue through a pitched roof and within 600mm of the ridge, you must have the flue terminating either at least the height or 600mm of the ridge. If you are 600mm outside of the ridge, the flue system must terminate at least 1000mm above the weathered surface or the nearest window.

Remember a cold flue does not draw properly, neither does a flue that has the incorrect lining size.
