Stoves with back boilers

Our customers increasingly want a heating system solution that gives them the security of heating their home with wood or smokeless fuels, giving them the peace of mind that regardless of gas shortages, they are able to heat their home and hot water systems.

Stoves with back boilers can work alongside or independently of an existing gas fired central heating system, using a neutraliser, which joins the two systems.

A great working example of our work that is open to the public as of the third of November 2011 at the National Trusts Morden Hall Park. This is the top picture on the right hand side. Morden Hall Park a permanent, interactive exhibition about sustainable green living and renewable energy and is only a couple of miles from our showroom. It is one of five sites across Europe that was selected for the project to showcase energy renewables at their best.

We are one of very few companies who have the expertise to offer the installation of stoves with back boilers.  Many of our customers say that they have been searching for a couple of years before they found a company who can help!

We prefer to use the Dunsley Heat Yorkshire stove.  It is DEFRA approved for burning logs in smokeless areas.  There is a wood burning and a multi fuel option available.  Dunsley Heat is an English company who make their stoves in the UK and are able to supply spare parts as required for the life of the stove, such as replacement firebricks.

The Central Heating version of the Yorkshire Stove has a automatic central heating boiler which works on its own without any electrical connections.  However electrics are required to operate the circulating pump or other electrical equipment such as time clocks, room stats etc which are fitted onto the heating system to turn the fire up in the morning, and down at night (even regulates itself to compensate for changes in the weather).

Throw on the fuel, remove ash as required and the Yorkshire automatically pretty much takes care of itself.

We would always advise using a liner with a stove that has a back boiler, to give peace of mind that the liner will stay intact for years to come.  There are two types, the 316 grade that has a 10-year guarantee or the 904 grade that has a 20-year guarantee.

The quantity of fuel consumed by secondary heating appliances is likely to be less than 1 tonne per year.  However, it should be stored in a dry and convenient location.

If you are within a 5 mile radius from us, we can supply you with your kiln dried logs, kindling and smokeless fuels through out the year.  If you are burning wood, most customers buy their fuel in early spring to make sure they can have it as dry as possible by letting it dry out further over the summer.  We sell seasoned logs for this purpose and kiln dried logs for immediate burning.

We can normally give a guide for the installation costs over the phone based on your requirements.  If you would like to talk to us about your project, feel free to use the book a survey page or call us on 020 8942 8881.
