Do your stove and fireplace fitters contact building control?
Yes, we are HETAS registered and part of the Competent Persons Scheme.
Our chimney lining professionals fix all leaking chimney problems and are trained to use state of the art
chimney CCTV cameras to diagnose the location of your leaking chimney quickly and professionally.
Our
stove fitters and chimney relining fitters go through a 2 year HETAS training course with The Cast Iron Fireplace Company before they are sent off to HETAS to complete their training. With a 100% pass requirement they cannot fail any of the questions from the practical test or from the written theory. We make sure that they are fully supported and guided through the 2 years giving them on average 500 different installation experiences before being tested, making our fitters very experienced by the time they sign off their installations for our company.
It is much simpler and cheaper to use our HETAS registered fireplace and stove, chimney flue installers. We will issue you with a Certificate of Compliance as a record of the job and that it complies with Building Regulations. A copy of the certificate is forwarded to HETAS who notify the local authority on your behalf.
This saves up to £350 + vat. If you do not use a HETAS installer then you have to apply to your local authority building control department for a building notice, and pay the appropriate fee. The cost of the fee is always more expensive than the cost of installing the stove and register plate. This is to encourage the public to use
HETAS engineers, who have been trained and certified for each part of their HETAS membership. HETAS members work is checked every year to make sure the high standard is maintained.
If you are looking for a one stop shop to buy the best stove, complete your
