What is a smoke controlled area?
Smoke Control Areas were created to control the smoke emissions around the UK. In a smokeless area it is an offence to burn anything that will produce smoke from your chimney. For example Wood or real coal. Smokeless fuels are allowed to be used on open fires and multifuel stoves.
