This restoration kit is great for restoring Cast Iron. If you are about to start your own restoration project, then you will need to buy, Liberon Rust Remover and Liberon Multi-Purpose Steel Wool Pads. These will clean and prepare the metal surface, ready for the application of Black Grate Polish. We sell all three for a reduced price on-line, or individually.
All of these products can also be used on a fireplace, which is already in use. Once the surface has been prepared (using the Liberon Rust Remover and Liberon Multi-Purpose Steel Wool Pads you will be ready to apply the Black Grate Polish.
The more you polish - the higher the shine will be. If you want the fireplace to have the traditional black finish, simply give a light buffing to the surface after the application of Grate Polish.
