Our Premium firewood Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs have fewer than 20% moisture content. The kiln dried logs should be stored in a dry ventilated space. Kiln dried logs are the best firewood for keeping your chimney or flue system clean of soot, as they don’t produce lots of smoke. Being Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs mean that they burn longer than soft woods.
Kiln dried logs are perfect for burning straight away on your wood burning stove or open fireplace as they are made up of hardwood logs and as all the wood is sourced from sustainable British forests and woodlands.

How to light your Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs

Use at least 2 firelighters and dry kindling (5-8 pieces will create lots of heat to warm the flue). Do not use newspaper as kindling as it creates smoke and does not heat the flue properly.

If using a stove, leave the door slightly ajar to help get more air to the kindling, then once ignited the door should be closed.

You now have enough heat to add smallish kiln dried logs.

Close windows in the room if wide open as any draught through the house can affect the flow of air, especially if it is windy outside.
