The Dunsley Yorkshire central heating stove is a woodburning stove with a back boiler that is approved for burning wood in smokeless zones.

DELIVERY INFORMATION

Dunsley Heat will process your order within 3-5 days.  Unfortunately, we cannot specify the delivery date as the courier does not provide this information – this would be a further 1-3 days.  If you are not at home to take delivery, you are advised to ask a friend/neighbour to take receipt for you.  Should the courier need to return on another day, this will incur a further delivery charge.  However, if you would like the stove to be delivered on a specific day, then Dunsley Heat requires a further £20 plus VAT to arrange for this.  If you would like a specific date please e-mail or telephone our office (020 8942 8881) and we will include the additional information on the order.

The Dunsley Yorkshire stove achieves this by supplying the combustion air to the top of the fire, then drawing the hot flue gases down through the fire (which further heats the gases) and passing them into an insulated afterburn chamber at the back of the fire. Fresh air is introduced to this chamber which ignites unburnt flue gases, producing much lower emissions and giving off a lot more heat.  Dunsley report temperatures in this afterburn chamber up to 1100°C.  Above this chamber the very hot flue gasses pass under the top of the boiler and pass lots of heat to the water before exiting up the flue.

The Yorkshire stove has a built in thermostat that controls the amount of air to the fire. The thermostat regulates the air supply according to the temperature of the water leaving the backboiler.  If your house is cold for example then the water will be colder and the Dunsley Yorkshire will automatically turn itself up to meet the need for extra heat.

The Yorkshire stove has a riddling grate and a good airwash system to keep the large window clear of deposits.  The Yorkshire central heating stove is available as a dedicated woodburner or as a multifuel stove - both versions are approved for woodburning in smoke control areas.  The Yorkshire is also available as a woodburning or multifuel stove without the backboiler - this version is also approved for smokeless zones

Please Note: 'Black' handles are standard with this stove. However, you have an option of 'Brass' or 'Chrome' if preferred. Please call us when placing your order.

There is the option of an external air intake which means that the stove can draw the air needed for combustion from the outside.  No additional air vents are then needed in the room which means that the stove will not create cold draughts in your house; without the external air supply the Yorkshire stove would have to draw the air it needs through air vents, sucking cold air in from outside.

The Yorkshire Smokeless Stove is the only multi-fuel stove ever the have met all the UK clean-burning tests. The clean combustion gives you a clear view of the fire through the large self-cleaning window.

The Yorkshire Smokeless Stove has been approved by DEFRA (Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs) and the devolved administrations for use in smoke control areas in the UK and are exempt from the section 20 of the clean air act 1993 when;

1) Installed, maintained and operated in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
2) No fuel shall be used other than;

Untreated dry wood, Peat or Peat Briquettes, Union Coal Briketts, CPL Wildfire Bituminous Coal Briquettes or any other approved smokeless fuel.

In ordinary stoves, air comes up beneath the fuel, so that smoke (which is tiny particles of unburned fuel), heat and waste goes up the chimney. The Yorkshire is different – air enters above the fuel, sweeping in front of the window, forcing smoke down into the hottest part of the fire and on into a refractory-lined ‘after burn’ chamber. Highly turbulent air is introduced to the hot smoke, which ignites generating temperatures of up to 1100C. The result is not just near-zero smoke emission, but greatly improved efficiency, virtually instant controllability and a truly astonishing swirling flame pattern.

Burning the smoke as well as the fuel means more heat for les fuel, this means less ash, less refuelling and less hassle.

Just one simple control gives instant control – from as low as 2kW output up to a massive 12kW of glorious heat.

The Yorkshire will burn almost anything. You can burn Wood, Coke, Anthracite (Welsh dry steam coal) Bituminous Coal Briquettes, even Brown Coal and Softwoods. There is no need to change grates or throat plates, as the grate bars are adjustable making them suitable for either wood or other fuels.

FUEL BREAK DOWN

Wood – Logs, any time of wood
Wildfire – Compressed Briquette made from Bituminous Coal
Peats – Peat Tuves and Peat formed into Briquettes. Like wood it readily absorbs moisture so keep dry.
Lignite – Union Briquettes is a natural fuel, a mixture of peat and coal. It burns with a great heat.
Anthracite – Welsh dry steam coal. A very hard natural form of coal. Slow to light but burns with great heat for a long time.
Manufactured Smokeless Fuels – Briquettes, Ovals, and Coke Fuels. As long as the fuel is HETAS approved it is suitable to burn
For heat efficient Hardwood that has been specially dried for a longer, cleaner burn, see our Log Store for prices and delivery in your area..

TOP TIPS WITH STOVES

Many stove manufacturers are claiming a ‘clean burn’. This does not mean they are approved appliances. If you live in a smoke free control area, you should make sure the stove you install is an officially approved appliance.

Wood burns best on a layer of its own ash, with the grate bars closed. Try to leave a layer of ash at least 13mm thick.
