Chimney pots replaced
As part of our service, we supply and fit a range chimney pots. It is important for chimney pots to be correctly fitted, as any holes in the pots or cracks in the flaunching can lead to a damp chimney. When this happens, the chimney starts to deteriorate very quickly and the stack itself can become dangerously unstable.
If a chimney flue is not being used, it should be vented, in the house, before being bricked. Additionally a cap should be fitted to the top to stop rain entering the chimney.
Most chimneys would need a 600mm pot, sometimes a house may have a 300mm pot, which might be too small, and the fireplace could experience down-draft issues due to the pots next to it being taller. Alternatively, perhaps a 900mm pot is required to increase the over height of the flue. All chimney requirements can be discussed on site or by
email by sending us an image of what you have.
