We have been working with Tiger Aspect Productions in the making of The Home Show which appears on Channel 4. We were involved in both the 2008 and 2009 series supplying and installing the fires for them. Keep scrolling below to see three video's below showing our work on The Home Show.
“The Cast Iron Fireplace Company were absolutely fantastic – we had a tight deadline to meet and were very specific about our needs which proved to be no problem for them whatsoever. They were punctual and incredibly helpful working beyond the call of duty and helped make a massive difference to the shows. Their fireplaces were stunning and were fitted with such precision and care. As far as I’m concerned, if you want to buy a fireplace or need one fitted, I wouldn't go to anyone else but the Cast Iron Fireplace Company. Thank you so much for all your hard work – we’ll be in touch for the next series!”
This house was totally gutted and needed a lot of attention.
On our 3rd appearance of Channel 4’s property renovation series called The Home Show, we were brought on site to fix the fireplace issues. We completed a site survey and went over the legal requirements in section J of building regulations. Part of our service is to inform our customers of what to do from the start of the process and complete the job to the end for them.
We offered a few options for the production company Tiger Aspect who make the show for Channel 4. They wanted to re-use the surround on this show and change everything else to enable a fine looking fire. It was on this inspection that we found out the the chimney needed lining as the flue failed our chimney sweeps smoke test. The chimney breast was falling to pieces - you can see in the video that it comes away in the hands of one of our fitters!
We then had to line the chimney with a lining system, before any fire could be installed, as it failed it's chimney sweeping pressure test. As the condition of the chimney mortar was so bad, smoke was leaking out of the bricks. After the chimney was lined, the chimney was safe to use with the open fireplace.
We came back on site and finished the installation. We then registered the installation with HETAS, so that the fireplace fitting was registered with the local building control. We do this with every solid fuel installation.
We worked with the interior designers on the prime time Channel Four show to make sure that everything went smoothly. When we are working we are familiar with the building processes and often advise what the best plan is for a fireplace or stove project.

We have more shows in the future coming up, so keep an eye out for us!
We managed to supply a match for the fireplace on the chimney breast in the same room at the house in Brixton, which made the finished look as it would have originally thus keeping the character of the house.
This impressive 5-bedroom house had a new black granite hearth made for. We had to remove the old existing fireplace hearth and install the new one. We then restored the inside of the fireplace so that the fireplace looked amazing!
